Turn Your Weaknesses Into Strengths

If you’re an entrepreneur, most probably you want to be good at everything. Or even worse – you may think you have to be good at everything. Well, you’re not good at everything, and neither is anyone else.

So, what can you do? You can find ways to turn your weaknesses into strengths. Your willingness to turn your weaknesses into strengths can make all the difference as you strive to achieve important goals.

Everyone has strengths and weaknesses. Your ability to identify and strengthen your weaknesses shows how much you want to improve.

Awareness is the first step when you want to any change. Hence, you have to know what strengths and weaknesses mean.

What are strengths?

Strengths are things, which can include activities, habits or behaviours, you can do well. People have natural abilities in certain areas, which they can improve.

What are weaknesses?

Weaknesses are usually the opposite of strengths. They are things you know you don’t do as well as you would like, which affects your ability to reach your objectives.

Weaknesses usually become known you when you attempt to do something you are not familiar or comfortable with. As a result, you may not be satisfied with the outcomes.

As you turn your weaknesses into strengths, your ability to get the outcomes you want will improve.

  1. Recognise and accept your weaknesses

You can’t turn a weakness into a strength if you try to deny that this weakness exists. Your first thing to do is to recognise that you have weaknesses and determine what they are.

Be honest with yourself. Then, decide how you can and will deal with your fears and weaknesses. In doing so, you are making a plan. In other words, you are proactive. You will, probably, find out you can do more than you had ever thought possible – and enjoy yourself while doing it.

  1. Grow from your mistakes

If you are human, you have made a mistake or two (or a few, but does it matter?). What one does after making a mistake is what sets apart those who want to challenge themselves to change, and those who will continue making the same mistakes. Don’t be hard on yourself for your faults. Instead, try to learn from them. Perceive them as lessons learned.

By doing this, you’ll develop yourself and will become a better version of you.

  1. Hire skills

Instead of trying to do something that you know you’re not the best at, consider hiring someone to do the things you can’t. Besides compensating for your weakness, this will help you build up an important skill you need- finding people or employees you can trust.

  1. Be good enough

Even if you are not good at something because you are born this way, you can change how you perform it. Instead of spending all your time wishing you were good at something, spend that time practising it. The more time and energy you spend on something, the better you will become.

When you invest all your time in an activity, the direction you can go in is up. It all starts with the time you chose to invest in it today.

But if you’re complaining, nothing’s going to change.

  1. Seek to help others

If you lack skills, you are not the only one. Many people in the world have the same weaknesses as you.

It’s a good idea to think about ways you can help both yourself and others. Sometimes your weaknesses combined could lead to a very successful outcome. Two heads are better than one. Instead of trying to change your weaknesses, accept them for what they are and embrace your strength and build upon them.

Remember, all your weaknesses got you to this point in your life, and that’s a sign that maybe it’s not your weakness after all.
